STanding AlongSide
Teri has been a part of New Vida since the 80’s. She is the wife of Dr. Sam Germany, our former Worship Director and the founder and director of Family Music Theatre (FMT). Teri has stood alongside Sam as he stood on the stage, but now Sam is standing alongside Teri as she takes the starring role in this stage of life.
Teri is going through another round of treatment for cancer that was first diagnosed as breast cancer that has metastasized and spread to other parts of her body including a lung.
Through the battle, Teri has kept her confidence in Jesus and continues to encourage many each day.
Recently, during a time of testimony, Teri shared about her newest round of treatment. It was not easy to share about the heartbreak of the diagnosis. After sharing, one of the emerging adults came to her and shared how encouraging it was to hear Teri share. The young person expressed a sentiment of hope because of Teri’s courage on display in the midst of pain and hardship. The young person expressed they did not know this was “allowed” in church, but through Teri’s example the young person found permission to admit their own struggles.
Teri has always stood alongside others, even when she didn’t realize it was happening. Today is our opportunity to stand alongside her.
